Dustin Miller, RN

Executive Director | Pend Oreille Surgery Center

In 2002 I began my career in the medical field in Spokane, WA as a nursing assistant. I worked at St. Luke’s rehab until 2010 when I completed my nursing degree in Spokane, WA. I continued working at St. Luke’s as an RN until 2012 when I was recruited to work in a rapidly growing outpatient surgery center. I began working as a Circulating and Perioperative nurse at Columbia Surgery Center, a four operating room multispecialty surgery center in Spokane.

In 2016 it was time to relocate to Sandpoint Idaho where my wife and I could raise our two daughters and enjoy the outdoors. My employer, Kristie, at CSS was not able to convince me to stay in Spokane. She then contacted Kris Sabo the Executive Director and one of the founders of Pend Oreille Surgery Center. I walked into Pend Oreille Surgery Center for an interview and it felt like home. I accepted a perioperative nursing and circulating position from Kris. In order to obtain more hours, I also worked in the Operating Room at Boundary Community Hospital for 3 years.

After 5 years as a nurse at POSC I was asked to train under Kris Sabo to help make her dream of retirement a reality. I worked with Kris for 6 months to learn the ropes and currently hold the position of Executive Director with a staff of 21 amazing co-workers and 8 medical providers of various specialties.
